The Labour Force Survey (LFS) is the most comprehensive official household survey in Slovenia. It is aimed to collect data on the situation and changes on the Slovenian labour market. It provides data on size, structure and characteristics of the Slovene labour force and inactive population.

Inflation – annual inflation rate

Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In January 2021, the sentiment indicator was 2.2 p.p. higher at the monthly level but 11.1 p.p. lower at the annual level.

Improved confidence in construction, manufacturing and services
In January 2021, the confidence indicator in construction, manufacturing and services went up, while in retail trade it went down. Enterprises stated that uncertain economic conditions, bad weather conditions and the coronavirus were the main factors limiting their activities.

In 2020 the output prices decreased by 0.2%
In 2020 the output prices decreased by 0.2%. In this year prices went up the most in water collection, treatment and supply (by 11.3%), and down the most in manufacture of wood, products of wood and cork (by 3.4%) and in manufacture of coke and petroleum products (by 3.3%).

Consumer sentiment slightly up at the beginning of 2021
In January 2021, the consumer sentiment slightly improved at the monthly level (by 1 percentage point) but declined by 18 percentage points compared to January last year.

Number of building permits lower for the fourth year in a row
In 2020, 6% fewer building permits were issued than in 2019. Their number has been declining for four years. In buildings for which building permits are issued in 2020, 8% more dwellings were planned than in 2019.
