Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

The value of roundwood purchased in May 2021 about 18% higher than in May 2020
In May 2021, EUR 3.6 million of roundwood was purchased from private owners in Slovenia, which is almost 19% less than in the previous month and about 18% more than a year ago.

Despite the pandemic year we record only a tenth less goods carried than the year before. Most of the goods carried by train were so-called other goods (unidentifiable goods in containers and a mixture of types of goods).

Further recovery of road goods transport in 2021 compared to previous quarters
In the 1st quarter of 2021, Slovenian goods vehicles carried more goods than in the 1st quarter of 2020. Total amount of goods carried and the number of tonne-kilometres performed were the highest in comparison with comparable quarters, indicating general strengthening of this transport sector.

The value of purchased livestock in May 2021 higher than in May 2020
In May 2021, the producer prices of agricultural products were on average 0.7% lower than in May 2020. The value of agricultural products purchased in May 2021 was 12.3% higher than in May 2020 and 9.7% higher than in April 2021.

69.0% of waste water discharged from the public sewage system was treated in treatment plants in 2020
In 2020, 231.1 million m3 of waste water was brought into the public sewage system in Slovenia, which is 4.1% more than in 2019. Almost two thirds of waste water was treated before release.

In May 2021 agricultural input prices higher by 0.5%
In May 2021 the agricultural input prices were by 0.5% higher than in the previous month. Prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture increased on average by 0.5% and prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment by 0.7%.
