In October exports up, imports down year-on-year
In October, the value of exports was higher than in the same period last year, while the value of imports decreased. Despite the decline at the monthly level, in the ten-month period the imports value increased.

Fewer births and deaths, natural change of population negative
Compared to the same month of 2024, the number of live births decreased by 4% and the number of deaths by 3%. 314 fewer people were born than died. On average 47 children were born per day and 57 people died.

Labour costs up in most sections of activities
At the annual level, the labour costs per hour worked increased in most sections of activities, the most in agriculture, forestry and fishing.

In the third quarter of this year, more hours were worked than in the same quarter a year ago. The share of hours worked in paid hours also increased.

At the monthly level, the number of registrations went down by 2.9% and the number of bankruptcies went up by 39.4%.

Natural gas prices for households slightly higher, for non-households lower
Average natural gas prices for household consumers increased by 3% in 3rd quarter of 2025, while for non-household consumers they decreased by the same share.

Over half of enterprises face lack of appropriate staff or knowledge in digital transformation of business
In 2025, 76% of enterprises with 10 or more employees and self-employed were limited by problems in digital transformation of business. For 57% of small enterprises digital transformation was not essential. 66% of small and medium-sized enterprises reached at least basic level of digital intensity.

A fifth with above basic overall digital skills
In 2025, 89% of residents had overall digital skills: 20% above basic, 27% basic, 23% low, 12% narrow and 7% limited overall digital skills. Just over a third (34%) of 75–89-year-olds had overall digital skills.

Much less waste collected, but more planned for recycling
In the third quarter, in total less waste was collected, mainly due to a decrease in the amount of construction waste. More waste was planned for recycling, but significantly less for backfilling. Among separately collected municipal waste, the largest share was biodegradable waste.

Tourist roaming longer in both Slovenian and foreign mobile phone users
In the 3rd quarter, Slovenian mobile phone users while roaming spent more days abroad, made more transit trips and went on fewer same-day visits. Foreign mobile phone users were mostly in transit.

Domestic affiliates of multinational enterprise groups under domestic control generated a quarter of total turnover
Manufacturing (C) recorded a higher number of units, generated more turnover, and employed more persons than the year before.
