Municipality Miklavž na Dravskem polju, which is part of the Podravska statistical region, measures 13 km2; this ranks it 206th among Slovene municipalities.
Statistical data for 2022 reveal the following:
In the middle of 2022 about 7,130 people (about 3,690 men and 3,440 women) were living in the municipality, which ranks Miklavž na Dravskem polju 75th among Slovene municipalities. The population density was 571 people per square kilometre, which was higher than the national average of 104 people per square kilometre.
The number of live births was higher than the number of deaths, which means that natural increase per 1,000 population in the municipality was positive. It was 0.6 (in Slovenia –2.3). The number of people who moved from the municipality was lower than the number of people who moved into the municipality, so net migration per 1,000 population in the municipality was positive. It was 14.0. The sum of natural increase and net migration per 1,000 population in the municipality was positive. It was 14.6 (in Slovenia 4.6).
The mean age of people in Miklavž na Dravskem polju was 44.4 years, which was higher than the national average (43.9).
As in most Slovene municipalities, in Miklavž na Dravskem polju the number of old people was higher than the number of young people: there were 150 people, aged 65 or more, per 100 people aged 0–14.
