Municipality Miklavž na Dravskem polju, which is part of the Podravska statistical region, measures 13 km2; this ranks it 206th among Slovene municipalities.

In the middle of 2020 about 6,980 people (about 3,600 men and 3,380 women) were living in the municipality, which ranks Miklavž na Dravskem polju 76th among Slovene municipalities. The population density was 559 people per square kilometre, which was higher than the national average of 104 people per square kilometre.
The number of live births was lower than the number of deaths, which means that natural increase per 1,000 population in the municipality was negative. It was -2.4 (in Slovenia -2.5). The number of people who moved from the municipality was lower than the number of people who moved into the municipality, so net migration per 1,000 population in the municipality was positive. It was 11.6. The sum of natural increase and net migration per 1,000 population in the municipality was positive. It was 9.2 (in Slovenia 6.2).
The mean age of people in Miklavž na Dravskem polju was 44.0 years, which was higher than the national average (43.6).
