In the middle of 2011 about 2,100 people (about 1,050 men and 1,050 women) were living in the municipality, which ranks Sveti Jurij v Slov. goricah 181st among Slovene municipalities. The population density was 69 people per square kilometre, which was lower than the national average of 101 people per square kilometre.
