Municipality Miklavž na Dravskem polju, which is part of the Podravska statistical region, measures 13 km2; this ranks it 205th among Slovene municipalities.

In the middle of 2010 about 6,250 people (about 3,100 men and 3,150 women) were living in the municipality, which ranks Miklavž na Dravskem polju 83rd among Slovene municipalities. The population density was 500 people per square kilometre, which was higher than the national average of 101 people per square kilometre.
The number of live births was lower than the number of deaths, which means that natural increase per 1,000 population in the municipality was negative. It was -1.8 (in Slovenia 1.8). The number of people who moved from the municipality was higher than the number of people who moved into the municipality, so net migration per 1,000 population in the municipality was negative. It was -2.1. The sum of natural increase and net migration per 1,000 population in the municipality was negative. It was -3.8 (in Slovenia 1.6).
