Municipality Miklavž na Dravskem polju, which is part of the Podravska statistical region, measures 13 km2; this ranks it 205th among Slovene municipalities.

In the middle of 2009 about 6,300 people (about 3,100 men and 3,200 women) were living in the municipality, which ranks Miklavž na Dravskem polju 82nd among Slovene municipalities. The population density was 501 people per square kilometre, which was higher than the national average of 101 people per square kilometre.
The number of live births was higher than the number of deaths, which means that natural increase per 1,000 population in the muncipality was positive. It was 0.6 (in Slovenia 1.5). The number of people who moved from the municipality was lower than the number of people who moved into the municipality, so net migration per 1,000 population in the municipality was positive. It was 5.6. The sum of natural increase and net migration per 1,000 population in the municipality was positive. It was 6.2 (in Slovenia 7.2).
The mean age of people in Miklavž na Dravskem polju was 42.3 years, which was higher than the national average (41.4 years).
