The value of industrial production, turnover in industry and stocks in industry increased over the previous month and year-on-year.

Industrial production up at the monthly and at the annual level

The total value of industrial production was 2.3% higher than in September. In mining and quarrying it was up by 6.0%, in manufacturing by 2.0% and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 0.4%.

At the monthly level, the value of industrial production increased in consumer goods industries (by 4.2%), in intermediate goods industries (by 0.5%) and in capital goods industries (by 0.1%).

Compared to October last year, the total value of industrial production went up by 3.5%. It was higher in mining and quarrying (by 26.8%) and in manufacturing (by 5.8%), but lower in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 15.9%).

Turnover in industry also higher at both levels of comparison

Total turnover in industry was 0.8% higher at the monthly level. Turnover increased in manufacturing by 0.8%, but decreased in mining and quarrying by 3.6%. In the non-domestic market it went up by 1.4% and in the domestic market by 0.6%.

At the annual level, total turnover in industry was up by 3.5%. It was higher in mining and quarrying, and in manufacturing.

The value of stocks up as well

The value of stocks in industrial production was 0.9% higher than in the previous month and 9.2% higher than a year ago.

With the release for January 2024, we transitioned to the new base year 2021.
