In October exports up, imports down year-on-year
In October, the value of exports was higher than in the same period last year, while the value of imports decreased. Despite the decline at the monthly level, in the ten-month period the imports value increased.

The export-import ratio in October was 93.3%. Slovenia generated a deficit of EUR 0.4 billion in external trade in goods.
In the first ten months, exports grew more than imports
In the first ten months of this year, external trade of goods was higher than in the same period last year. The value of exports went up by 18.9% to EUR 61.1 billion, and the value of imports by 2.2% to EUR 59.1 billion.
The value increased in goods trade with both groups of countries: with EU Member States exports by 1.2% and imports by 1.0%, and with EU non-member countries exports by 37.3% and imports by 3.1%.
The surplus amounted to EUR 2.1 billion, while the export-import ratio was 103.5%.

- The value of exports to EU Member States went up by 1.3% and to EU non-member countries by 0.3%; without operations involving processing1, exports to the latter decreased by 0.7% to EUR 915 million.
Imports (EUR 6.3 billion):
- Value down by 30.0%.
- The value of imports from EU Member States went up by 3.4% and from EU non-member countries down by 45.4%. The drop in imports was influenced by a one-off high-value transaction last year. Without operations involving processing1, imports from non-member countries increased by 8.9% to EUR 829 million.
The export-import ratio in October was 93.3%. Slovenia generated a deficit of EUR 0.4 billion in external trade in goods.
