The value of agricultural products 8.2% higher year-on-year
The prices of agricultural products were 5.0% higher than last September and 7.9% higher than in the 3rd quarter last year. The value of purchased agricultural products increased by 8.2% year-on-year.
Producer prices higher than last September…
Compared to September last year, producer prices of agricultural products were higher on average by 5.0%.
Animals and animal products were 13.1% more expensive. The prices of animals for slaughter were higher by a fifth and the prices of animal products by 5.7%. Crop products were 1.8% less expensive. The decrease was due to the lower prices of vegetables and potato. Fruit prices were higher by 4.5%.
… as well as in the third quarter last year
In the 3rd quarter, the prices of agricultural products were on average 7.9% higher than in the same period last year.
The prices of animals and animal products were on average higher by 13.8%. Cattle prices were higher by almost a third and the milk price by 12.1%. The prices of crop products increased by 0.9%. Fruit was 6.2% and cereals 6.1% more expensive. Potato prices were lower by 9.8%.
Value of purchased grape for industry much higher
The total value of purchased agricultural products increased by 8.2% year-on-year.
In the group fruit and wine growing, the purchase value was higher by almost a third. Significantly higher was the value of purchased grape for industry. In comparison with last September, a much larger quantity of the product was purchased. On the other hand, the value of purchased fruit decreased (by 6.9%).
In the group livestock breeding, the purchase value increased by 13.7%. The value of purchased livestock was higher by a quarter. Also higher were the values of purchased eggs (by a fifth) and milk (by 12.9%). The value of purchased poultry decreased by 1.1%.
In the group arable farming, the purchase value was lower by a fifth. The value of purchased cereals decreased by 38.6%. The value was down due to the smaller quantity of purchased products, particularly grain maize. The value of purchased vegetables increased by a third and of potato by a tenth.
