Correction – the data on Consumer price indices, November 2024 are published again
Due to some errors in statistical data, the data published on 29 November 2024 are published again. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
After the release of tha data on 29 November 2024, we found an error in the entry of microdata, which resulted in an error in the inflation calculation. There were 2 incorrect inputs on 2 petrol prices which impacted the indices on the groups 07222 Petrol and to 0722 Fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment, 072 Operation of personal transport equipment, 07 Transport and also on total index and index for goods (non-durable).

Food and non-alcoholic beverages contributed the most to annual inflation
Consumer prices increased by 1.7% at the annual level in November. In the previous month, the inflation rate stood at 0.0% and in the same month last year at 4.9%.
In one year, service prices increased on average by 2.8% and goods prices by 1.1%. Semi-durable goods prices went up by 3.0% and non-durable goods prices by 1.2%, while durable goods were 0.9% cheaper.
The annual growth rate was pushed up the most (by 0.4 of a percentage point) by 2.3% higher prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages. 0.3 p.p. each was contributed by higher prices in the groups health (by 6.1%), restaurants and hotels (by 3.8%), clothing and footwear (by 3.6%) and recreation and culture (by 3.1%).
On the other hand, annual inflation was eased by 0.3 p.p. due to 1.8% lower prices in the group transport.
Higher prices of electricity
Due to the transition to the high season in November, the price of electricity went up by 16.8% compared to October and pushed inflation up by 0.5 p.p. 0.1 p.p. was contributed by higher prices of motor fuels (petrol was 2.6% and diesel 2.4% more expensive).
More expensive than in the previous month were other recreational items and equipment, gardens and pets (by 1.9%), clothing (by 1.7%) and food (by 0.8%). Each of the mentioned groups added 0.1 p.p. to the monthly inflation.
On the other hand, in November, compared to the previous month, accommodation services (by 4.5%) and package holidays (by 2.3%) became cheaper, each contributing 0.1 p.p. to lower monthly inflation.
Harmonised indices of consumer prices
Measured with the harmonised index of consumer prices, this November the annual growth of consumer prices was 1.6% (a year ago 4.5%). The monthly price growth stood at 0.7%.
In one year, service prices went up on average by 3.7% and goods prices by 0.4%. Semi-durable goods prices went up by 2.3% and non-durable goods prices by 0.6%, while durable goods prices went down by 2.1%.

Annual inflation rates in October 2024 for all EU-27 Member States are available here. Measured with the harmonised index of consumer prices, in October the annual inflation rate in the EMU countries was 2.0% (a month before 1.7%). In the EU-27 Member States it was 2.3% (a month before 2.1%). The lowest annual inflation rate was recorded in Slovenia (0.0%) and the highest in Romania (5.0%).
