Import prices unchanged at the monthly level
In October 2024 import prices were unchanged at the monthly level and 3.0% lower than a year ago. On a monthly basis, we recorded the most noticeable increase in the group other transport equipment (by 3.1%).

Compared to September, in October import prices were unchanged. At the monthly level, the prices of products supplied from the euro area were lower by 0.1%, the prices of products imported from the non-euro were higher by 0.2%.
Compared to September, energy prices increased by 0.9%, consumer goods prices by 0.1%, while intermediate goods prices decreased by 0.2% and capital goods prices by 0.1%.
The highest decrease in October was observed in the section mining and quarrying (by 2.6%), among which the highest decrease was recorded in the group crude petroleum and natural gas (by 3.8%). On the other hand, the highest increase was observed in the group other transport equipment (by 3.1%).

From October 2023 to October 2024 import prices decreased by 3.0%. In the same period the prices of products supplied from the euro area went down by 1.6% and the prices of products imported from the non-euro area by 4.8%.
The prices of imports decreased the most in the section mining and quarrying (by 12.6%), among which the highest decrease was recorded in the group crude petroleum and natural gas (by 15.9%) The prices increased the most in the group tobacco products (by 8.7%).
