Import prices lower
In September 2024 import prices were 0.8% lower than in the previous month and 3.3% lower than a year ago. On a monthly basis, we recorded the most noticeable decrease in the group electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (by 16.6%).

Compared to August, in September import prices were 0.8% lower. At the monthly level, the prices of products supplied from the euro area were lower by 0.9%, the prices of products imported from the non-euro were lower by 0.6%.
Compared to August, energy prices decreased by 5.1%, intermediate goods prices by 0.5%, consumer goods prices and capital goods prices decreased by 0.1%.
The highest decrease in September was observed in the group electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (16.6%). On the other hand, the highest increase was observed in the group beverages (by 1.4%).

From September 2023 to September 2024 import prices decreased by 3.3%. In the same period the prices of products supplied from the euro area went down by 2.1% and the prices of products imported from the non-euro area by 4.9%.
The prices of imports decreased the most in the section manufactured products (by 3.2%), among which the highest decrease was recorded in the group coke and refined petroleum products (by 10.7%). The prices increased the most in the group tobacco products (by 10.7%).
