Total market production index, August 2024

Minimal growth in total market production compared to July

The total market production was slightly higher at the monthly level. It also increased at the annual level, but decreased at the level of the first eight months of the year.

At the monthly level slightly up

The total market production grew by 0.1% compared to July. It increased in service activities and in industry (by 0.9% and 0.4%, respectively), but decreased in construction (by 3.0%).

At the annual level also higher

Compared to the previous August, the total market production increased by 2.1%. A larger decline was observed in construction (by 17.2%), while in other observed sections of activities production went up, the most in industry (by 7.2%).

At the level of the first eight months lower

Compared to the first eight months of last year, the total market production decreased by 0.5%. A decline was recorded in construction (by 9.3%), while in wholesale and retail trade and in service activities production went up (by 2.6% and 2.0%, respectively).
