In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In August 2018, the number of persons in employment increased by 0.1% compared to the previous month. Compared to August 2017, it increased by 2.9% (to around 872,400).

Average earnings for August 2018 higher than earnings for July 2018 and earnings for August 2017
Average gross earnings for August 2018 amounted to EUR 1,669.51. Compared to earnings for July 2018 they were higher in nominal terms by 1.1% and in real terms by 1.0%. Average gross earnings were also higher than in August 2017, in nominal terms by 3.5% and in real terms by 1.7%.

In August 2018 the prices of agricultural products were on average 1.0% higher than in August 2017. The prices of crop products increased on average by 5.4%, while the prices of animals and animal products were 0.9% lower.

Compared to July 2018, in August 2018 agricultural input prices remained on average the same. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture on average did not change, while the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment slightly increased.

A person in Slovenia generated on average 481 kg of municipal waste in 2017, which is almost 6 kg more than in 2016
Almost 5.9 million tons of waste was generated in Slovenia in 2017, of which 2% was hazardous waste. 994,000 tons (17% of all waste generated in Slovenia) was municipal waste, of which 70% (694,000 tons) was collected separately.

In 2017, final energy consumption in Slovenia was 206,000 TJ
In 2017, final energy consumption in Slovenia slightly decreased (by 0.2%) in comparison with the previous year. The decrease was influenced by the reduced consumption of petroleum products in transport; petrol by 4% and diesel by 3%. 23% of energy was consumed in households.
