Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In 2018 the households made ends meet more easily than in 2017. More households could handle unexpected financial expenses and approximately the same proportion could afford annual holidays. Fewer people were severely materially deprived. People were more satisfied with their lives taken as a whole.

More than 13 million passengers were carried in railway transport. In 2017, slightly more than 3,000 dwellings were completed, of which the most in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region and the fewest in the Zasavska statistical region.

4.7% of persons in employment are young people

 

In November 2018, the number of persons in employment increased by 0.3% over the previous month. Compared to November 2017, it increased by 3.1% (to 887,953). 4.7% (or around 42,100) of persons in employment are young people under the age of 25.

Average gross earnings for November 2018 8.1% higher than earnings for October 2018
Average gross earnings for November 2018 amounted to EUR 1,812.73 and were higher than earnings for October 2018; in nominal terms by 8.1% and in real terms by 8.0%. Average earnings increased mostly due to higher extra payments paid with earnings for November 2018.

In November 2018 agricultural input prices on average 0.6% higher
In November 2018 agricultural input prices were on average 0.6% higher than in October 2018. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture increased on average by 0.9%, while the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment decreased on average by 0.1%.

The prices of agricultural products in November 2018 on average 7.0% lower than in November 2017
In November 2018 the prices of agricultural products were on average 7.0% lower than in November 2017. The prices of crop products were on average lower by 12.7% and the prices of animals and animal products by 2.3%.
