In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In 2017, 4.7% more water abstracted in Slovenia for public water supply than in 2016
In 2017, 4.7% more water was abstracted in Slovenia for public water supply than in 2016. Almost all water (99.2%) was abstracted from groundwater sources. Households consumed about the same amount as in 2016, while production and service activities consumed 11.4% more.

In January 2019, the number of persons in employment decreased by 0.7% over the previous month. Compared to January 2019, it increased by 3.1% (to 881,245). Around 58,900 persons in employment worked in construction.

Average gross earnings for January 2019 3.0% lower than earnings for December 2018
Average gross earnings for January 2019 amounted to EUR 1,729.15 and were lower than earnings for December 2018; in nominal terms by 3.0% and in real terms by 1.9%. The decrease in average earnings was mostly due to lower extra payments (13th month payments and Christmas bonuses).
