In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In the first quarter of 2022, 94% of young residents (16–24 years) used a smartphone for private purposes. 85% used smart devices, e.g. smart lights, clocks, speakers or headphones. More than a third (35%) of young users encountered problems when using them.

Less cows’ milk collected in 2022
Slovenian dairies collected 2.3% less cows’ milk than in the previous year. In December 2022, 3% less milk was collected than in December 2021. In the same comparison, Slovenian dairies decreased the production of all groups of milk products except drinking milk.

In the period from July 2021 to June 2022, a resident of Slovenia consumed on average 120 kg of cereals, of which 65% was common wheat.

In 2022 import prices up by 11.9%
In 2022 import prices were 11.9% higher than in 2021. In 2022 prices went up the most in the section mining and quarrying (by 41.5%), among which the highest increase was recorded in the group coal and lignite (by 136.2%) and the prices in the group paper and paper products (by 31.0%).

In the third quarter of 2022, natural decrease was –361, and net migration was positive by 2,176 persons.
