Inflation – annual inflation rate

Inflation is a general increase in prices, while the inflation rate shows the percentage increase in prices. In Slovenia inflation is measured with the consumer price index with which we measure changes in retail prices of goods and services from the point of view of the expenditure structure, which the resident population intends for final consumption at home and abroad.

In 2019, average net income per capita the highest in Trzin and the lowest in Kuzma
In 2019, gross and net income received by the population was the highest in Trzin and Šmarješke Toplice and the lowest in Kuzma and Hodoš. Average income by statistical regions was the highest in Osrednjeslovenska and the lowest in Pomurska. At the level of Slovenia it increased from 6.2% to 7.2%.

Turnover from the sale of services in May 2021 higher than in the previous month
In May 2021, turnover from the sale of services was higher at the monthly and at the annual level: at the monthly level by 1.1%, at the annual level by 24.5%.

In June 2021, 8% less net electricity generated than in June 2020
Compared to the same month last year, electricity production in June 2021 decreased by 8%, but supply of energy commodities increased.

Confidence lower in all four economic sectors
In July 2021, the confidence indicator was lower in retail trade, services, construction and manufacturing. The main limiting factor in manufacturing is the lack of raw materials, in services and trade the coronavirus, and in construction the high cost of materials.

In 2020, fewer births, more deaths, more immigrants, more emigrants, fewer marriages and fewer divorces
The COVID-19 epidemic affected demographic statistics in Slovenia in 2020: natural increase was markedly negative (−5,249) due to increased mortality, while the measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 caused an increase in internal migration and a decrease in marriages and divorces.

In June 2021, more than one million tourist overnight stays
In June 2021, tourist accommodation establishments in Slovenia recorded just over 375,000 tourist arrivals and just over one million overnight stays. Most tourist overnight stays were generated in municipalities Piran, Izola and Brežice.

In the 1st quarter of 2021, 92% of the Slovenian residents aged 15 or more did not go on a private or business trip
In January, February and March 2021, 93% of Slovenian residents aged 15 or more did not go on any private trip. 59% of them stated the COVID-19 epidemic as the main reason.

In 2019, more employer enterprise births and deaths than in 2018
In 2019, 6,781 employer enterprise births, 2% more than in 2018, and 7,289 employer enterprise deaths, 18.3% more than in 2018, were recorded in Slovenia.

Port traffic of vessels in 2020 lower than in 2019
The traffic of passenger ships in 2020 did not reach even 1% of the traffic in 2019. In the Port of Koper 18.3 million tons of goods were handled in 2020, which is 17% less than in 2019.
