In 2020, the producer prices of agricultural products on average 2.0% lower than in 2019
In 2020, the producer prices of agricultural products were on average 2.0% lower than in 2019. The value of purchased agricultural products was EUR 535.8 million, 3.5% lower than in 2019.
The prices of crop products on average higher and the prices of animals and animal products on average lower than in 2019
In 2020, the prices of crop products were on average 1.1% higher than in 2019. The increase was caused by higher prices of fruit, mostly of apples. The average purchase price of grape for industry was much lower than a year before. Higher were also the prices of industrial plants (on average by 5.0%) and of plants and flowers (on average by 5.6%). Potato prices were on average lower by 12.4 %. On average lower were also the prices of wine (on average by 0.4%), vegetables (on average by 4.2%) and cereals (on average by 2.5%).
The prices of animals and animal products were on average 3.9% lower than in 2019. The prices of animals for slaughter decreased on average by 4.4%. Cattle prices were lower on average by 5.0%, pig prices on average by 1.9% and poultry prices on average by 4.7%. The prices of animal products decreased on average by 3.5%. The decrease was caused mostly by lower average purchase price of milk. The average purchase price of eggs was higher than a year before.
In 2020, the total value of purchased agricultural products lower than in 2019
The total value of purchased agricultural products was EUR 535.8 million, 3.5% lower than in 2019.
In 2020, the value of purchased products in the group arable farming was 2.3% higher than in 2019 (it amounted to EUR 71.0 million). The value of purchased potato was higher by 6.9% (quantity of purchased potato was higher and prices on average lower). Higher was also the value of purchased cereals (by 4.6%) and vegetables (by 2.1%). The value of purchased industrial plants was lower than in 2019.
The value of purchase in the group fruit and wine growing was 7.4% lower than in 2019 and it amounted to EUR 51.1 million. The value of purchased alcoholic beverages was lower by 14.4% and the value of purchased grape for industry by 24.4%. The value of purchased fruit increased by 26.1%. The increase was caused mostly by the higher value of purchased apples (higher was the quantity as well as the average price of purchased product).
The value of purchased products in the group livestock breeding was lower by 4.0% and it amounted to EUR 409.4 million. The value of purchased livestock went down the most; it decreased by 7.8%. The value of purchased poultry was lower by 3.4% and the value of purchased eggs by 1.5%. The value of purchased milk decreased by 1.1%. The value dropped due to lower average purchase price (it was EUR 0.32 per litre).
