The value of construction put in place 13.1% lower than in November 2020 and 0.2% lower than in December 2019
The value of construction put in place in December 2020 was 13.1% lower than in the previous month and 0.2% lower than a year ago.

In comparison with November 2020, the value of construction put in place in December 2020 decreased by 13.1%. This time it decreased compared to the previous month after it had increased during the previous month. In December 2020, the value of construction put in place on buildings decreased at the monthly level by 8.0%; on residential buildings it went down by 2.8% and on non-residential buildings by 13.9%. The value of construction put in place on civil engineering decreased by as much as 17.2%.

In the previous four months the index went up at the annual level, but in December 2020 the value of construction put in place was 0.2% lower. The value of construction put in place on buildings decreased at the annual level by 3.4%; on residential buildings it went up by 19.7%, while on non-residential buildings it went down by 12.0%. The value of construction put in place on civil engineering increased by 1.3%.
The value of construction put in place in 2020 slightly higher than in 2019
The value of construction put in place in 2020 increased by 0.4% over 2019, which is a 2.9 percentage points lower increase than in the previous year. The value of construction put in place on buildings decreased by 3.3%; on residential buildings it went up by 14.8%, while on non-residential buildings it went down by 9.4%. The value of construction put in place on civil engineering increased by 2.4%.

In January 2021, we started to publish data according to the Standard Classification of Activities (NACE Rev. 2), so that the data will be published for construction of buildings, construction of civil engineering and specialised construction works. In the SiStat Database the tables with shares will no longer be published, i.e. the tables with the shares of the value of construction put in place and contracts by types of constructions and types of buildings.
Data are seasonally adjusted.
Data for the last 3 months are provisional. With each release the data for the last 3 months can be corrected and supplemented with new data.
