Producer prices of agricultural products in November 2020 on average 7.6% lower than a year ago
In November 2020, the producer prices of agricultural products were on average 7.6% lower than in November 2019. The value of agricultural products purchased in November 2020 was 4.6% lower than in November 2019 and 15.1% lower than in October 2020.
Prices of fruit and potato much lower than a year before
In November 2020, the producer prices of agricultural products were on average 7.6% lower than in November 2019. The prices of crop products were on average lower by 8.5% and of animals and animal products by 6.8%.
In comparison with the previous year, fruit prices (on average by 20.4%) and potato prices (on average by 28.2%) went down the most. Lower were also the prices of industrial plants (on average by 8.0%) and of vegetables (on average by 4.1%). Wine prices increased on average by 10.0%.
The prices of animals for slaughter went down on average by 10.0%. Pig prices decreased on average by 26.8%. Lower were also the prices of cattle (on average by 7.0%) and of poultry (on average by 5.9%).
The prices of animal products decreased on average by 4.1%. The decrease was caused by the 5.4% lower average price of purchased milk. The average egg price was 2.2% higher than in November 2019.
The value of purchased livestock and alcoholic beverages much lower than in November 2019
The total value of agricultural products purchased in November 2020 was 4.6% lower than in November 2019 and 15.1% lower than in October 2020.
The value of purchased products in the group arable farming was 13.5% higher than in November 2019. In November 2020, the value of purchased cereals was much higher than a year before. Higher was also the value of purchased vegetables and potato. The value of purchased industrial plants was lower than in November 2019.
The value of purchased products in the group fruit and wine growing was 8.4% lower than in November 2019. The value of purchased fruit increased by 28.2%. Higher was also the value of purchased grape for industry (by 19.3%). The values went up due to higher quantity of purchased products, while the prices were on average lower. The value of purchased alcoholic beverages decreased by 27.6%.
The value of purchased products in the group livestock breeding was 8.2% lower than in November 2019. The value of purchased livestock decreased by 24.1%. In comparison with the previous year, the quantity of purchased livestock was lower as were the average purchase prices. The value of purchased poultry increased by 2.0% and the value of purchased eggs by 10.0%. The value of purchased milk decreased by 2.2%. The value decreased because the average purchase price of milk was lower than a year before (the quantity of purchased products was higher).
