Natural gas prices lower, electricity prices higher in the 3rd quarter of 2020
Average natural gas prices for household consumers in Slovenia decreased by 4% between the second quarter of 2020 and the third quarter of 2020. In the same period the average electricity price for household consumers increased by 29%.
The average natural gas price for household consumers in the third quarter of 2020 was 0,06 EUR/kWh, which is a 4% decrease over the second quarter of 2020. The average natural gas price without value added tax for non-household consumers in the third quarter of 2020 was 0.03 EUR/kWh, which is a 2% decrease over the second quarter of 2020.
The average electricity price for household consumers in the third quarter of 2020 was 0.17 EUR/kWh, which is a 29% increase over the second quarter of 2020. The average electricity price without value added tax for non-household consumers in the third quarter of 2020 in Slovenia was 0.09 EUR/kWh, which is a 4% increase over the second quarter of 2020. Higher electricity prices in the third quarter of 2020 (when compared to the second quarter of 2020) are mostly the consequence of the expiration of measures adopted by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Energy Agency to mitigate the social and economic consequences of COVID-19 virus from March to May 2020.
