In October 2020, import prices 0.4% lower at the monthly level and 4.1% lower at the annual level
In October 2020, import prices were on average lower than in the previous month and also lower than a year ago. The highest monthly decrease was recorded in the group electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning.
Import prices 0.4% lower than in September 2020
In October 2020, import prices decreased the most in the group electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (by 17.8%), followed by the group coke and refined petroleum products (by 5.5%). The largest increase was observed in the group crude petroleum and natural gas (by 17.2%).
Import prices 4.1% lower than a year ago
From October 2019 to October 2020 import prices decreased on average by 4.1%. The prices of products supplied from the euro area went down by 4.2% and the prices of products imported from the non-euro area by 4.0%.
Import prices decreased the most in the group coal and lignite (by 28.1%), while prices in the group other manufactured goods increased (by 1.8%).
Import prices decreased in October 2020 on average by 0.4% at the monthly level. The prices of products supplied from the euro area were lower by 0.8%, while the prices of products imported from the non-euro area on average stayed unchanged.
As regards groups of activities showing the dynamics of prices by end-use, in October 2020 energy prices decreased the most (by 6.8%), followed by capital goods prices (by 0.4%), while intermediate goods prices and consumer goods prices increased (by 0.4% and by 0.2%, respectively).In October 2020, import prices decreased the most in the group electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (by 17.8%), followed by the group coke and refined petroleum products (by 5.5%).
