The economic sentiment up for the second month in a row

In June 2020, all individual indicators had a positive impact on the economic sentiment, which improved by 8.7 percentage points at the monthly level.

The sentiment indicator at the monthly level higher

The value of the sentiment indicator in June 2020 (at -24.0 percentage points – p.p.) increased by 8.7 p.p. compared to May 2020 (at -32.6 p.p.). After a considerable drop in April 2020 the sentiment indicator improved, but remained 24.1 p.p. below the long-term average.

This time the monthly increase was influenced by all confidence indicators: in services (by 3.1 p.p.), in manufacturing (by 2.3 p.p.), among consumers (by 1.7 p.p.), in retail trade (by 0.9 p.p.) and in construction (by 0.6 p.p.). 

A sharp decline in the sentiment indicator at the annual level 

In June 2020 the sentiment indicator decreased by 29.3 p.p. over June 2019.

The annual decline was influenced by all confidence indicators: in services (by 14.3 p.p.), in manufacturing (by 6.7 p.p.), among consumers (by 5.9 p.p.), in construction (by 1.3 p.p.) and in retail trade (by 1.1 p.p.).
