Retail trade turnover higher at the monthly and lower at the annual level
After two consecutive monthly decreases, in October 2019 volume turnover in retail trade increased at the monthly level; compared to September 2019 it was higher by 0.7%. The increase was due to higher volume turnover in both retail trade with food (by 1.9%) and retail trade in specialized stores with motor fuels (by 0.2%). Volume turnover in retail trade with non-food products decreased over the previous month (by 1.0%).
Compared to October 2018, volume turnover in retail trade decreased by 5.4%. At the annual level, the largest decrease was recorded in specialized stores with motor fuels (by 13.2%). Turnover also decreased in retail trade with non-food products (by 0.4%), while in retail trade with food it slightly increased (by 0.2%).
In the first ten months of this year volume turnover in retail trade increased by 5.2% over the same period of the previous year. In this period the sale of food increased by 1.8%, the sale of non-food products by 5.1% and the sale of automotive fuel by 8.2%.
Sale of motor vehicles in October 2019 lower at the monthly and higher at the annual level
Volume turnover in trade and repair of motor vehicles decreased by 0.5% at the monthly level and increased by 6.3% at the annual level. In the first ten months of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 it increased by 4.0%.
