Industrial production slightly higher than in the previous month
In September 2019 the value of industrial production was 0.4% higher than in August 2019 and 1.9% higher than in September 2018.
At the monthly level the value of industrial production was higher in manufacturing (by 0.3%) and lower in electricity, gas and steam supply and in mining and quarrying (by 0.1% and 2.7%, respectively).
The value of industrial production in intermediate goods and in capital goods industries was also higher than in the previous month (by 2.3% and 2.0%, respectively). In consumer goods industries it was lower (by 3.1%).
Turnover slightly lower, the value of stocks in industry higher at the monthly level
In September 2019 turnover in industry decreased in total industry (by 0.2%) as well as in manufacturing and in mining and quarrying (by 0.6% and 1.4%, respectively). This was mostly due to turnover in manufacturing in the non-domestic market, which was lower by 1.5%, and despite turnover in manufacturing in the domestic market being higher by 3.1%, making it the highest monthly growth in 2019.
At the annual level turnover in industry increased (by 1.3%).
The value of stocks in industrial production was 1.1% higher at the monthly level and 2.8% higher at the annual level. In mining and quarrying it was 9.9% higher and in manufacturing 1.1% higher than in the previous month.
