In May 2019, in airport traffic more and in port traffic fewer passengers than a year ago

In May 2019, about 169,800 passengers were recorded at Ljubljana airport, which is 1% more than in May 2018. In Slovenian ports about 14,600 passengers were recorded or 32% fewer than in May 2018.

Interurban and international coaches carried fewer passengers than a year ago

Buses in urban scheduled transport carried almost 5.3 million passengers in May 2019, which is 1% more than in May 2018.

In May 2019, almost 2.7 million passengers were carried by buses in public scheduled transport (interurban and international), which is 9% fewer than in May 2018. 50.2 million passenger-kilometres were made by buses in May 2019, which is 1% fewer than in May 2018.


In air traffic more passengers than a year ago

In May 2019, about 169,800 passengers travelled through Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, 1% more than in May 2018.

The biggest Slovenian air carrier transported about 103,500 passengers, 12% fewer than in May 2018. With its planes 86.7 million passenger-kilometres were performed (i.e. 23% fewer in the same comparison).


In port traffic fewer passengers than a year ago

In May 2019, over 14,600 passengers were recorded in Slovenian ports, which is 32% fewer than in May 2018. 82% of them were cruise passengers.

In the Port of Koper almost 2 million tonnes of goods were handled in May 2019, almost the same as in May 2018.


In Slovenia about 10,500 passenger cars registered for the first time

In May 2019, about 13,800 road motor vehicles were registered for the first time in Slovenia. Almost 10,500 were passenger cars registered for the first time, which is almost the same as in May 2018. About 7,400 passenger cars registered for the first time in Slovenia were new.


In the 1st quarter of 2019 more goods carried by road and by train than in the same period of 2018

From January to March 2019 Slovenian road goods vehicles carried 19.7 million tonnes of goods, which is 4% more than in the 1st quarter of 2018, and performed 5.6 billion tonne-kilometres, which is 8% more than in the same period of 2018.

In the 1st quarter of 2019, 5.7 million tonnes of goods were carried by train and almost 1.4 billion tonne-kilometres were performed. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2018, the quantity of goods carried and the number of tonne-kilometres performed were higher by 9% and 11%, respectively.

In the 1st quarter of 2019 almost 3.4 million passengers were carried in railway passenger transport, which is about the same as in the 1st quarter of 2018, and 159 million passenger-kilometres were performed, which is 3% more than in the same period of 2018.
