In April fewer domestic tourists
More than 453,000 tourist arrivals and almost 1.1 million tourist overnight stays were recorded in Slovenia in April 2019. Domestic tourists generated almost 101,000 arrivals or 15% fewer than in April 2018 and almost 261,000 overnight stays or 14% fewer than in April 2018. Foreign tourists generated almost 353,000 arrivals or 22% more than in April 2018 and more than 794,000 overnight stays or 19% more than in April 2018. Foreign tourists again generated over 75% of all overnight stays.The most foreign tourists from Italy
In April 2019 the key markets, from which the most foreign tourists with the most overnight stays in Slovenia came, were Italy (19% or almost 148,000 overnight stays), Austria (12%), Germany (11%), Serbia (4%) and Croatia (4%).
Compared to April 2018, the number of overnight stays increased for all key markets. The biggest increase was recorded by German tourists (by 46%), followed by Italian tourists (by 31%), Austrian tourists (by 12%), Croatian tourists (by 8%) and Serbian tourists (by 5%).Most overnight stays in health (spa) resorts
In April 2019 the highest number of tourist overnight stays (25% or almost 264,000) was recorded in health (spa) resorts, followed by seaside resorts (21%), mountain resorts (20%), and municipality Ljubljana (18%).
Compared to April 2018, in all types of tourist municipalities the number of overnight stays increased. The increase in overnight stays was the highest in municipality Ljubljana (by 18%), followed by mountain and seaside resorts (by 12% in each) and health (spa) resorts (by 3%).Almost 600,000 overnight stays in hotels
The highest number of overnight stays was recorded in hotels (56% or almost 593,000), followed by private accommodations - rented rooms, dwellings (18%) and camping sites (8%).

In the first four months of 2019 tourists generated almost 1.4 million arrivals and almost 3.5 million overnight stays or 6% more arrivals and 5% more overnight stays than in the same period of the previous year.New data on tourist accommodation capacity
