This time the value of industrial production increased at the monthly level
In April 2019, after two consecutive declines, the value of industrial production increased at the monthly level by 1.8%. The value continues to grow at the annual level; this time it grew by 5.6% (the last decline was in December 2018).
At the monthly level industrial production grew in manufacturing and in electricity, gas and steam supply (by 2.0% and 0.8%, respectively). Production in mining and quarrying declined (by 11.3%).
Turnover in industry and the value of stocks with the highest monthly growths in 2019
In April 2019 turnover in industry was higher by 1.5% compared to March 2019 and by 3.2% compared to April 2018.
In main industrial groupings, turnover again grew the most in consumer goods industries (by 4.4%) at the monthly level. It also grew in capital goods industries (by 1.4%) due to domestic market (where it grew by 7.4%). Turnover in intermediate goods industries declined (by 0.5%).
The value of stocks of finished and unfinished production also increased at the monthly and the annual level (by 1.8% and 6.6%, respectively). Both were the highest recorded growths of the value of stocks in 2019.
