In February 2019, 39% fewer building permits issued in Slovenia than in January 2019

In February 2019, 45% fewer building permits were issued for residential and 34% fewer for non-residential buildings than in January 2019. With the issued building permits 320 dwellings were planned, which is 10% fewer than in January.

Fewer building permits issued in Slovenia than in January 2019

In February 2019, 39% fewer building permits were issued in Slovenia than in the previous month. Fewer building permits were issued for residential (by 45%) as well as for non-residential buildings (by 34%). The total floor area of ​​all planned buildings in February was a little less than 112,500 m2, which is 25% less than the floor area of ​​all buildings planned by building permits in January 2019.

99% of all building permits were issued for new constructions and 1% for conversions. In comparison with January 2019, the number of building permits for new constructions decreased by 38% and the planned floor area by 25%. In comparison with February 2018, the number of building permits for new constructions decreased by 1%, while the planned floor area increased by 35%.

Fewer dwellings planned than in January 

By issuing final building permits, in February 2019 construction of 320 dwellings was planned, which is 10% fewer than in January 2019. 8 dwellings were planned in non-residential buildings, the rest in residential buildings. In one-dwelling buildings 153 dwellings were planned, which is 43% fewer than in previous month. In two- and more dwelling buildings 99 dwellings were planned, which is 10% more than in January. Of these, 91 dwellings were planned in three- and more dwellings buildings and the rest in two-dwelling buildings. In residences for communities 60 sheltered dwellings were planned. The average size of dwellings in one-dwelling buildings will be 156 m2 and in two- and more dwelling buildings 85 m2.

By issuing building permits in February 2019, 27% fewer new dwellings were planned (sheltered dwellings were excluded) than in January 2019 and the planned floor area of the dwellings decreased by 42%. In comparison with February 2018, 49% more new dwellings were planned and the floor area increased by 20%.

Most dwellings to be built in the Gorenjska statistical region

In February 2019 most dwellings were planned in the Gorenjska statistical region, 84 dwellings or 26% of all. Of these dwellings 60 dwellings were sheltered. Gorenjska is followed by Jugovzhodna Slovenija (51 dwellings or 16% of all), Podravska (49 dwellings or 15% of all) and Osrednjeslovenska, where 44 dwellings or 14% of all dwellings were planned. In other statistical regions fewer dwellings were planned, the fewest in the Koroška and Zasavska statistical regions, where in each only one dwelling was planned.
