The value of industrial production in January 2019 higher at the monthly and at the annual level
In January 2019 the value of industrial production increased at the monthly level by 6.0% and at the annual level by 5.8%. The value at both levels was also higher in manufacturing (by 5.7% and by 6.2%, respectively) and in electricity, gas and steam supply (by 5.9% and by 4.0%, respectively).
The value of industrial production increased in all main industrial groupings. At the monthly level the highest increase was recorded in consumer goods industries and in capital goods industries (in each by 9.2%), and at the annual level in consumer goods industries (by 12.5%).
In January 2019 turnover in industry higher and the value of stocks lower than in the previous month
In January 2019 turnover in industry was 5.5% higher than in December 2018 and 4.0% higher than in January 2018. Industrial turnover was higher mostly due to turnover growth in non-domestic markets: at the monthly level it was higher by 7.2% and at the annual level by 6.2%.
In January 2019 the value of stocks of finished and unfinished production was 0.4% lower than in December 2018 and 6.2% higher than in January 2018.
In 2018 labour productivity in industry was 0.1% higher than in 2017, which was the lowest growth since 2013 (original data). Labour productivity in industry is calculated based on the data on the value of industrial production and the data on persons in employment.
