In April 2018, 17% fewer building permits issued in Slovenia than in March 2018

In April 2018, 26% fewer permits were issued for residential buildings and 11% fewer for non-residential buildings than in the previous month. With building permits issued in April 2018, most dwellings were planned in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region.

The floor area of planned buildings 19% smaller than in March

In April 2018, 17% fewer building permits were issued in Slovenia than in March 2018. Fewer building permits were issued for residential buildings (26% fewer), as well as for non-residential buildings (11% fewer). The total floor area of all planned buildings in April was a little more than 102,000 m2, which is 19% less than in March. The total floor area of planned residential buildings decreased by 32% and the total floor area of planned non-residential buildings by 6%.  

In April 2018, 99% of all building permits were issued for new constructions and 1% for conversions. The number of building permits for new constructions decreased by 17% in comparison with March 2018 and by 28% in comparison with April 2017. The planned floor area for new constructions decreased by 19% in comparison with March 2018 and by 18% in comparison with April 2017.

In April 36% fewer dwellings planned than in March

By issuing building permits, in April 2018 construction of 179 dwellings was planned, which is 36% fewer than in March. Of all dwellings planned in April, 7 were planned in two- and more dwelling buildings, one in non-residential buildings and the rest in one-dwelling buildings. The average size of dwellings in one-dwelling buildings will be 164 m2 and in two- and more dwelling buildings 98 m2.

By issuing building permits in April 2018, 35% fewer newly built dwellings were planned than in March 2018 and 34% fewer than in April 2017. The planned floor area of these dwellings decreased by 28% in comparison with March 2018 and by 31% in comparison with April 2017.

Most dwellings to be built in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region

In April 2018 most dwellings were planned in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region: 47 or 26% of all. Osrednjeslovenska was followed by Podravska, where 35 dwellings were planned (20% of all), and Savinjska, where 22 dwellings were planned (12% of all). In other statistical regions fewer dwellings were planned, the fewest in Koroška, where 4 dwellings were planned. In Primorsko-notranjska no dwellings were planned in April.
