Exports and imports in October 2017 higher than in October 2016
In the January-October 2017 period Slovenian exports increased by 13.2% and imports by 14.3% over the same period of 2016.

In October 2017 Slovenia exported goods worth EUR 2,606.4 million and imported goods worth EUR 2,445.0 million. Compared to October 2016 exports increased by 20.6% and imports by 17.3%. Compared to the other months of 2017, in absolute terms October's exports were first, while imports were second (imports were higher in March 2017).
In October 2017 the surplus in trade in goods amounted to EUR 161.4 million and the export/import ratio was 106.6%.
Trade in goods with EU Member States higher in October 2017 than in October 2016
In October 2017 almost four fifths of Slovenia’s trade in goods was generated in trade with EU Member States; 76.4% of total exports and 80.4% of total imports. In October 2017 Slovenia exported to EU Member States goods worth EUR 1,992.3 million (a 22.5% increase over October 2016), and imported goods worth EUR 1,966.8 million (a 14.7% increase over October 2016). In October 2017 a surplus in trade in goods was also recorded in trade with EU Member States; it amounted to EUR 25.5 million.
As regards trade with EU non-member countries, Slovenia exported goods worth EUR 614.1 million in October 2017 (a 14.8% increase over October 2016), and imported goods worth EUR 478.1 million (a 29.7% increase over October 2016). October’s surplus in trade in goods with EU non-member countries amounted to EUR 135.9 million.
The most important trading partners of Slovenia in October 2017 in trading with EU Member States were Germany and Italy both in exports and imports, while in trading with EU non-member countries the main trading partners were Serbia and Russia in exports and China and Turkey in imports.
Exports and imports in the first ten months of 2017 higher than in the same period of 2016
Exports in the period from January to October 2017 amounted to EUR 23,482.0 million (a 13.2% increase compared to the same period of 2016), and imports to EUR 22,692.7 million (a 14.3% increase compared to the same period of 2016). External trade surplus in the first ten months of 2017 amounted to EUR 789.3 million, while the export/import ratio was 103.5%.
