In June 2017 the sentiment indicator higher at the monthly and annual level

In June 2017 the sentiment indicator was 2.8 percentage points higher at the monthly level and 7.9 percentage points higher at the annual level.

Sentiment indicator higher at the monthly level
In June 2017 (12.3 percentage points) the sentiment indicator was 2.8 percentage points (p.p.) higher than in May 2017 (9.6 p.p.) and 14.8 p.p. above the long-term average.

The increase in the sentiment indicator was influenced by confidence indicators in retail trade (by 1.1 p.p.), in manufacturing (by 1.0 p.p.), among consumers (by 0.5 p.p.) and in construction (by 0.3 p.p.). The confidence indicator in services had a negative influence (by 0.2 p.p.).

Sentiment indicator higher at the annual level
In June 2017 the sentiment indicator was 7.9 p.p. higher than in June 2016.

All five component indicators had a positive influence on the rise of the sentiment indicator at the annual level; the consumer confidence indicator (by 2.6 p.p.), the manufacturing confidence indicator (by 1.7 p.p.), the services confidence indicator (by 1.6 p.p.), the construction confidence indicator (by 1.4 p.p.) and the retail trade confidence indicator (by 0.7 p.p.).

The sentiment indicator is the weighted average of the confidence indicators in manufacturing, retail trade, construction, services and the consumer confidence indicator.

Data are seasonally adjusted.

In January 2016 methodological changes were implemented in the Consumer Survey, which have an impact on the value of the sentiment indicator.
