A quarter of Slovenian residents went on at least one private trip in the 4th quarter of 2016
In the 4th quarter of 2016, 24% of the resident population aged 15 or more went on at least one private trip, while 5% of the resident population went on at least one business trip. The average daily expenditure on business trips was three times greater than on private trips.
One in four Slovenian residents went on a private trip
In the last quarter of 2016, 414,000 or 24% of the resident population aged 15 or more went on at least one private trip, which is 5 percentage points more than in the 4th quarter of 2015. During this period they made around 676,000 private trips. Around 369,000 or 55% of these trips were made in Slovenia and around 307,000 or 45% were made abroad.
The average daily expenditure on private trips: EUR 58 per person
Private trips involved on average 3.5 overnight stays (2.4 overnight stays in Slovenia and 4.8 abroad). Private trip participants spent on average around EUR 58 per person per day (including all expenses).Those who went on private trips in Slovenia spent on average around EUR 40 per day and those who went on private trips abroad around EUR 69 per day.
One in twenty Slovenian residents went on a business trip
In the observed period around 84,000 persons or 5% of the resident population aged 15 years or more went on at least one business trip, which is 1 percentage point more than in the same period of the previous year. During this period they made around 124,000 business trips. Around 26,000 or 21% of business trips were made in Slovenia and around 98,000 or 79% were made abroad.
The average daily expenditure on business trips: EUR 178 per person
Business trips involved on average 3.3 overnight stays (1.6 overnight stays in Slovenia and 3.7 abroad). Business trip participants spent on average around EUR 178 per person per day (including all expenses). Average daily expenditure on business trips in Slovenia amounted to around EUR 102 per person and on business trips abroad to around EUR 187 per person.
