Average monthly gross earnings for November 2016 7.6% higher than earnings for October 2016

Average monthly gross earnings for November 2016 amounted to EUR 1,687.64. Compared to October 2016, they were higher by 7.6% in nominal terms and by 7.5% in real terms. The increase was mostly due to higher extra payments, paid with earnings for November.

Average monthly earnings for November 2016 significantly higher than earnings for October 2016
Average monthly gross earnings for November 2016 amounted to EUR 1,687.64; compared to earnings for October 2016 they were higher in nominal terms by 7.6% and in real terms by 7.5%. Average monthly net earnings for November 2016 amounted to EUR 1,087.08; compared to earnings for the previous month they were higher by 6.5% in nominal terms and by 6.4% in real terms. Compared to November 2015, in November 2016 average monthly gross and net earnings were higher (by 0.5% and 0.4%, respectively).

Compared to October 2016, average monthly earnings for November 2016 increased mostly due to higher extra payments (13th month payments and Christmas bonuses), paid with earnings for November.

Average monthly earnings for November 2016 increased more in the private sector
Compared to October 2016, average monthly gross earnings for November 2016 were higher in both sectors, in the private sector by 11.6% and in the public sector by 1.5% (in general government they were about the same as earnings for October 2016).

The highest average monthly earnings for November 2016 received by persons employed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
Compared to the previous month, average monthly net earnings for November 2016 increased the most in manufacturing (by 14.6%) and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 13.6%). Compared to November 2015, average monthly net earnings for November 2016 increased the most in financial and insurance activities (by 6.4%) and in mining and quarrying (by 6.1%). The highest average monthly net earnings for November 2016 were received by persons employed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (EUR 1,643.16) and the lowest by persons employed in accommodation and food service activities (EUR 760.93).
