Average monthly earnings for June 2016 0.2% higher than earnings for May 2016

Compared to May 2016, average monthly earnings for June 2016 were 0.2% higher in nominal terms and 0.4% lower in real terms; they amounted to EUR 1,564.49 gross or EUR 1,018.70 net.

Compared to earnings for the previous month, average monthly earnings for June 2016 higher in nominal terms and lower in real terms
Average monthly gross and net earnings for June 2016 amounted to EUR 1,564.49 and EUR 1,018.70, respectively. Compared to earnings for May 2016 they were higher in nominal terms by 0.2% and lower in real terms by 0.4%.

In the first half of 2016, a person in paid employment earned on average EUR 1,570.67 gross per month, which is 1.9% more in nominal terms and 2.4% more in real terms than in the same period of 2015.

Average monthly earnings higher in both sectors, public and private
Compared to May 2016, average monthly earnings for June 2016 were higher in both sectors, in the private sector by 0.3% and in the public sector by 0.2%.

Average monthly earnings in the first half of 2016 higher in most activities
Compared to May 2016, average monthly net earnings for June 2016 increased the most in mining and quarrying (by 8.3%) and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 6.3%), and they decreased the most in financial and insurance activities (by 1.7%).

In the first half of 2016 the highest average monthly earnings were received by persons employed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; they amounted to EUR 1,433.13 net. Compared to the first half of 2015, in the first half of 2016, average monthly net earnings were higher in most activities; they increased the most in public administration and defence, compulsory social security (by 4.8%). In this period average monthly net earnings decreased only in transportation and storage (by 0.3%) and in other service activities (by 0.4%).

In the first half of 2016 average monthly earnings higher than the national average only in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region
In the first half of 2016 the highest average monthly earnings were received by persons employed in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region; they amounted to EUR 1,113.36 net or about EUR 92 more than the national average. Compared to the first half of 2015, in the first half of 2016 average monthly net earnings increased the most in the Posavska (by 2.6%) and in the Koroška (by 2.4%) statistical regions.
