Specialisation the lowest in accounting, bookkeeping and auditing activities, tax consultancy

In 2014, the share of turnover in non-specialised services was the highest in accounting, bookkeeping and auditing activities, tax consultancy.

In 2014, enterprises performing accounting, bookkeeping and auditing activities, and tax consultancy services and having 20 or more persons employed generated almost a fifth of turnover with the sale of non-specialised services and only four fifths with the sale of specialised services. They generated 87% of turnover from the sale of specialised services with two services: financial auditing services (40%) and accounting services (47%).

Legal activities generated 29% of turnover from the sale of specialised services with legal advisory and representation services in judicial procedures concerning business and commercial law, 9% with legal advisory and representation services concerning criminal law and 6% with legal advisory and representation services in judicial procedures concerning civil law.

More than a third of turnover generated by enterprises in architectural and engineering activities and related technical consultancy
As regards enterprises in business services with 20 or more persons employed, in 2014 the highest turnover was generated by enterprises in architectural and engineering activities and related technical consultancy (EUR 600.4 million), followed by enterprises in computer services (EUR 590.5 million). The lowest turnover was generated in legal activities (EUR 30.5 million).

Compared to 2013, turnover increased in most activities, except in accounting, bookkeeping and auditing activities, tax consultancy, in management consultancy activities and in technical testing and analysis, where it decreased.

Most customers from Slovenia
In 2014, enterprises with 20 or more persons employed performing business services generated most of their turnover with customers with headquarters or residence in Slovenia (78%), particularly in management consultancy activities (95%). Customers from Slovenia were followed by customers from other EU Member States (13%).

METHODOLOGICAL NOTE
For the first time we published only data for enterprises with 20 or more persons employed. On 20 October 2016 also data for enterprises with fewer than 20 persons employed will be published on the SI-STAT data portal.

Activities (NACE Rev. 2) observed by business services are: divisions 62 and 78, and groups of activities 58.2, 63.1 and 73.1 (annually), 69.1, 69.2 and 70.2 (biennially, the first reference year is 2008) and 71.1, 71.2 and 73.2 (biennially, the first reference year is 2009). Data for the missing groups of activities are obtained from structural business statistics, namely for 2014 for 71.1, 71.2 and 73.2, and for 2013 for 69.1, 69.2 and 70.2.

Specialization represents the share of turnover generated by sale of services that are typical of the observed activity compared to total turnover. “Other” includes turnover generated by sale of products and other services that are not typical of the observed activity.
