Fewer building permits issued but more dwellings planned
Compared to September, 18% fewer building permits were issued: for residential buildings almost the same number as in the previous month and for non-residential buildings 28% fewer. The largest number of dwellings after 2013 was planned.
Floor area of buildings larger by almost a quarter
In October, 497 building permits were issued, i.e. 111 fewer than in the previous month: for residential buildings 212 (one more) and for non-residential buildings 285 (112 fewer).
The total floor area of all planned buildings was almost 224,000 m2, which is 23% more than in September. The total floor area of planned residential buildings increased by 60%, and of non-residential buildings decreased by 7%. The floor area of residential buildings was larger due to planned construction of 30 two- and more dwelling buildings (a month earlier 17), in which 611 dwellings were planned (a month earlier 142).
Most dwellings planned in two- and more dwelling buildings
By issuing building permits, in October construction of 793 dwellings was planned, which is 458 more than in the previous month and the largest number after 2013. More than 700 dwellings were last planned in September 2022. In one-dwelling buildings 181 dwellings were planned (12 fewer than in September), while in two- and more dwelling buildings 611 dwellings were planned (469 more). One dwelling was planned in a non-residential building. The average size of dwellings in one-dwelling buildings will be 167 m2 and in two- and more dwelling buildings 80 m2.
Almost half of dwellings to be built in the Podravska statistical region
In October, the largest number of dwellings was planned in the Podravska statistical region, i.e. 376 or 47% of all, followed by Gorenjska with 167 dwellings (21% of all) and Osrednjeslovenska with 96 dwellings (12%). In other statistical regions fewer dwellings were planned, the fewest in Zasavska, only two.
