More registrations and fewer bankruptcies than a month earlier
At the monthly level, the number of registrations went up by 4.9% and the number of bankruptcies down by 30.0%. Quarterly, there were more registrations and bankruptcies at all levels.

In September, the number of registrations increased compared to August by 4.9%, to last September by 10.0% and to the 2021 average by 15.7%.
Quarterly, the number also increased at all levels: compared to the previous quarter by 4.3%, to the same quarter of 2024 by 5.0% and to the 2021 average by 11.8%.
Compared to the 2nd quarter, the number of registrations increased the most in construction (by 10.7%) and in education, health, social work, arts and other service activities except activities of membership organisations (by 10.3%).
Compared to last year’s 3rd quarter, the number increased the most in transportation and storage (by 20.0%), followed by financial, insurance, real estate activities, professional and other business activities (by 14.4%) and information and communication (by 13.4%).
In comparison with the 2021 average, the number increased in most of the observed activities, the most in accommodation and food service activities (by 28.5%).
On the other hand, in all quarterly comparisons, the number decreased the most in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles: compared to the previous quarter by 3.8%, to the same quarter a year ago by 9.8% and to the 2021 average by 14.5%.
… the same at bankruptcies
In all comparisons, the number of bankruptcies decreased: compared to the previous month by 30.0%, to the same month of 2024 by 9.7% and to the 2021 average by 21.1%.
Quarterly, the number increased at all levels: compared to the previous quarter by 2.2%, to the same quarter of last year by 23.9% and to the 2021 average by 9.7%.
In all quarterly comparisons, the number decreased the most in information and communication: compared to the previous quarter by 77.8%, to the same quarter a year ago by 60.0% and to the 2021 average by 70.4%.
In comparison with the previous quarter, the number went up the most in construction (by 27.7%) and financial, insurance, real estate activities, professional and other business activities (by 24.2%).
In comparison with the same quarter of 2024, the number went up the most in education, health, social work, arts and other service activities except activities of membership organisations (by 83.3%) and in comparison with the 2021 average in construction (by 76.6%).

Larger fluctuations in bankruptcy indices may occur due to the small size of Slovenia and consequently the lower number of occurrences in the observed periods and sections of activities.
During the transition period after SKD 2025 (NACE Rev. 2.1) entering into force, statistical data will still be collected and published according to SKD 2008 (NACE Rev. 2). The transition periods will vary depending on the individual surveys.
The release was prepared based on seasonally and calendar adjusted data, and calendar adjusted data. When comparing the reference month/quarter with the previous month/quarter, we use seasonally and calendar adjusted data. When comparing with the same period of the previous year, we use calendar adjusted data.
All time series with exception of activities B–S Industry, construction and services, total are directly seasonally adjusted, which means that for every time series its own model is set up. Because the models are not mutually linked, possible links that are present in original data of several time series do not apply for results of seasonal adjustment of these time series.
