Production and sold production of industrial products and services, 2024
The value of sold production down
The value of sold production in 2024 amounted to EUR 30.8 billion, which is almost 3% less than a year earlier.
For the second consecutive year, sold production of industrial products and services declined
Sold production amounted to EUR 30.8 billion in 2024, which is 2.7% less than a year earlier. This was the second consecutive annual decline. In 2023, the value went down by 0.7%, while in 2022 it grew by 15.7% and in 2021 by 11.1%.
The value of sold production of products made from the producer’s own raw material and the value of industrial services was EUR 30.1 billion. The remaining EUR 0.7 billion was the value of the production where the raw materials and the products were owned by the principal.
The most important products were fabricated electrical equipment
In terms of the value of sold production produced on own account, fabricated electrical equipment were the most important industrial products in 2024. The value of sold production of these products was EUR 3.44 billion, which is 3.0% more than the year before. Due to a 3.9% year-on-year decline, fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, which were best-selling in 2023, fell to second place with EUR 3.39 billion. Third placed remained motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers with EUR 3.29 billion sold production, which was 0.9% more than the year before.
The value of sold production fell in almost two quarters of observed manufacturing activities, the most in computer, electronic and optical products (by 17.5%), followed by other non-metallic mineral products (by 8.5%) and machinery and equipment n.e.c. (by 8.0%). The highest growth was recorded in repair and installation services of machinery and equipment (by 10.0%).

Manufacturers are heavily dependent on foreign markets
High export orientation was characteristic of most manufacturing activities observed, with three quarters of the production and services in manufacturing in 2024 (or EUR 23.1 billion) sold on foreign markets. The share of the value from the sale of products on foreign markets was the highest in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (96.3%), followed by other transport equipment (86.5%) and electrical equipment (85.8%). More than 80% of the value was generated with the sale of products on foreign markets also in basic metals (85.0%), chemicals and chemical products and computer, electronic and optical products (83.5% in each), and machinery and equipment n.e.c. (80.6%).
Domestic sales were dominated by manufacturers of beverage, wearing apparel, food products, and providers of printing and reproduction of recording media. On the domestic market, 76.1% of sold value of beverages, 74.2% of sold value of wearing apparel, 64.3% of sold value of printing and 60.5% of sold value of food products was generated.
Tables with the latest data are available in the SiStat Database. Data on sold production of manufactured products and services are also published in the cartographic application STAGE.
