On average two SMSs sent per day
In the first quarter of this year, fewer outgoing phone calls were made than in the same quarter last year. Year-on-year, outgoing telephone traffic as well as the number of both kinds of messages sent also decreased. On average, mobile phones were used more for sending SMSs than for calling.

Compared to the 1st quarter of 2024, we recorded:
A mobile phone user sent on average two SMS messages per day
In the 1st quarter of 2025, almost 441 million outgoing calls from the mobile network were made and almost 491 million SMS messages were sent. This means a mobile network user on average used their mobile phone for sending an SMS message (177 times) more often than for making a call (159 times). In other words, in the 1st quarter of 2025, a user made on average 1.8 mobile phone calls per day and sent two SMS messages. The average outgoing mobile phone call lasted five minutes.
Internet accessed the most via optics
Taking into account the new definition of fixed wireless access valid since the 2nd quarter 2024, at the end of the 1st quarter of 2025, over 724,000 Internet connections were used in Slovenia. Of these, 58% were fibre optic access connections, 22% cable modem connections, 12% xDSL connections and 8% other broadband connections, including fixed wireless access.
In one year, the number of optical connections increased by 8%.

- 9% fewer outgoing telephone calls from fixed network and
- 3% fewer from mobile network,
- 10% less outgoing fixed telephone traffic and
- 2% less mobile traffic,
- 2% fewer SMSs and MMs sent.
