Producer prices of agricultural products higher year-on-year
The prices of agricultural products were 6.8% higher than in the 1st quarter last year and 8.0% higher than last March.
Producer prices higher than last March …
In March, producer prices of agricultural products increased on average by 8.0%.
The prices of animals and animal products were higher by 9.6%. The prices of animals for slaughter increased by a tenth and of animal products by 8.0%. Milk was 11.4% more expensive.
The prices of crop products increased by 3.1%. Cereal prices went up the most (by a fifth). Higher were also the prices of wine, vegetables and horticultural products.

In the 1st quarter, the prices of agricultural products increased on average by 6.8%. The increase was due to higher prices of livestock and milk. As regards livestock, cattle prices went up the most. The prices of crop products decreased by 1.2%: potato prices were down by 9.8% and fruit prices by 5.2%.
Value of purchased milk higher
The total value of purchased agricultural products was higher by 5.5%.
In the group livestock breeding, the value of purchase went up by 5.4%. The value of purchased milk was higher by 15.6%. It increased due to the higher quantity of purchased milk as well as the higher average price. Higher was also the value of purchased livestock, while the value of poultry and eggs was down.
The value of purchase in the group arable farming increased by 6.8%. The value of purchased potato went up by more than a half. On the other hand, the value of purchased cereals decreased by almost a quarter and of vegetables by 3.4%.
The value of purchase in the group fruit and wine growing increased by 7.8%. It went up due to the higher value of purchased fruit. In comparison with the previous year, the quantity of purchased apples and pears was much higher. The value of purchased alcoholic beverages went down by 12.6%.
