More live births and more deaths
Compared to the same month of 2024, the number of live births and deaths went up by 7%. A natural decrease was recorded again: according to provisional data, 584 more people died than were born. On average 44 children were born per day and 63 people died.

In the third month of this year, 1,365 children were born in Slovenia, which was 84 or 7% more than in March 2024. On average 44 children were born per day (compared to 41 in the same month of 2024).
More number of deaths
In the observed month, 1,949 residents of Slovenia died. This was 129 (7%) more than in March last year. On average 63 people died each day (four more than in March 2024).
What do data for April 2025 indicate?
According to the first estimate, 1,171 residents of Slovenia died between 1 and 20 April 2025. In the same period of last year, the number was lower (1.105 residents).
