Agricultural input prices higher in March and in the first quarter
In March 2025, agricultural input prices increased at the monthly and at the annual level. At the monthly level, the prices of plant protection products went up the most. Prices in the first quarter of 2025 were also higher than in the previous quarter.
Prices higher at the monthly level …
Agricultural input prices increased on average by 0.4%. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture (input 1) went up by 0.4% and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment (input 2) by 0.2%.
Within the first group (input 1), the prices of plant protection products increased the most (by 8.2%), followed by the prices of fertilizers (by 1.6%) and veterinary services (by 1.1%).
Within the second group (input 2), the prices of materials remained the same as in the previous month, while the prices of buildings increased by 0.6%.
… as well as year-on-year
Agricultural input prices were on average 2.7% higher than a year ago. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture were up by 3.0% and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment by 2.1%.
Compared to the previous year, the prices of fertilizers increased the most (by 10.9%), followed by the prices of plant protection products (by 8.2%) and seeds of crops (by 6.1%).

In the first quarter of 2025, agricultural input prices were on average 2.4% higher than in the previous quarter of 2024 and 2.7% higher than in the first quarter of 2024.
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, the prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture went up by 3.0% and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment by 1.1%.
