Producer prices continued to go up in March

Producer prices were higher at both monthly and annual levels. The prices of products for sale on non-domestic markets increased more than those for sale on the domestic market.

Monthly prices up the most in manufacture of coke and petroleum products …

Producer prices were 0.8% higher than in the previous month. The prices of products for sale on the domestic market went up by 0.6% and on non-domestic markets by 0.9%. Of those, the prices of products for sale on the markets of euro area countries increased by 1.0% and of non-euro area countries by 0.7%.

Prices increased in all main industrial groups; energy by 5.0%, intermediate goods by 0.7%, capital goods by 0.6% and consumer goods by 0.2%.

Prices increased the most in manufacture of coke and petroleum products (by 7.5%), followed by electricity (by 5.6%), manufacture of beverages (by 3.4%), and manufacture of wood, products of wood and cork (by 2.9%). On the other hand, they decreased the most in manufacture of leather and leather products (by 4.1%), followed by manufacture of other transport equipment (by 1.7%), manufacture of paper and paper products (by 0.8%) and manufacture of wearing apparel (by 0.8% as well).

… and year-on-year in manufacture of beverages

In a year, producer prices increased by 1.2%. The prices of products for sale on the domestic market increased by 0.9% and on non-domestic markets by 1.5%. Of the latter, the prices of products for sale on the markets of euro area grew by 1.9% and on non-euro area by 0.3%.

Up went the prices of consumer goods (by 3.0%), capital goods (by 0.7%) and intermediate goods (by 0.6%), while energy prices went down (by 1.8%).

Prices increased the most in manufacture of beverages (by 8.4%), followed by water collection, treatment and supply (by 5.4%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (by 4.9%) and manufacture of wood, products of wood and cork (by 3.6%). On the other hand, they decreased the most in manufacture of coke and petroleum products (by 11.8%), followed by manufacture of computer and optical products (by 3.5%), manufacture of rubber and plastic products (by 2.0%) and manufacture of leather and leather products (by 1.2%).
