New in the SiStat Database: Crop production, detailed data for 2024

In the SiStat Database, we are publishing detailed final data on crop production in 2024 by cohesion and statistical regions. The data show significant differences in the structure of agricultural land between the two cohesion regions.

Data presented in the release Crop production, 2024 on 28 March 2025 are now available at a more detailed level in the SiStat Database. Data on crop production are published by cohesion regions, and data on average yield of important crops by statistical regions. 

The data show significant differences in the structure of agricultural land between the two cohesion regions

In the cohesion region Vzhodna Slovenija, around 333,700 hectares of utilesed agricultural area were in use last year, accounting for 70% of total utilised agricultural area in the country. Permanent grassland and pastures made up 51% of these areas, arable land 44%, and permanent crops 5%. This cohesion region is also home to 77% of all orchard areas and 56% of all vineyard areas in Slovenia.

Significantly less agricultural land is in use in Zahodna Slovenija, totaling around 142,200 hectares. This area is divided into permanent grassland and pastures, which together make up as much as 72% of total utilised agricultural area in this region, while the remaining area consists of arable land (20%) and permanent crops (8%).
