The value of construction put in place in February was 4.1% lower than in the previous month and 10.8% lower than in the same month a year ago.

At the monthly level, the value of construction put in place in February decreased by 4.1%. As regards specialised construction activities, it went down by 8.2% and as regards buildings by 3.6%, while as regards civil engineering it went up by 1.0%.

Year-on-year, the value of construction put in place in February decreased by 10.8%. As regards civil engineering, it went down by 24.5% and as regards buildings by 5.8%, while as regards specialised construction activities it went up by 2.4%.

The value of construction put in place in the first two months of this year decreased by 4.3% over the same period of the previous year. However, it only went down as regards civil engineering (by 22.6%), while as regards specialised construction activities and buildings it went up by 11.4% and by 4.0%, respectively.

METHODOLOGICAL NOTE
The release was prepared based on seasonally and calendar adjusted data, and calendar adjusted data. When comparing the reference month with the previous month, we use seasonally and calendar adjusted data. When comparing with the same period of the previous year, we use calendar adjusted data.
Time series are directly seasonally adjusted, which means that for every time series its own model is set up. Because the models are not mutually linked, possible links that are present in original data of several time series do not apply for results of seasonal adjustment of these time series.
Data published for the past 6 months are provisional. Data for this period may change when a new time point is published.
During the transition period after SKD 2025 (NACE Rev. 2.1) entering into force, statistical data will still be collected and published according to SKD 2008 (NACE Rev. 2). The transition periods will vary depending on the individual surveys.
