Last year, 12% more passengers at Slovenian airports
More than 1.4 million passengers travelled through Ljubljana, Maribor and Portorož airports in 2024.
One eighth more passengers at the annual level
Passenger traffic at the three Slovenian international airports (Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport, Portorož Airport) increased by one eighth compared to 2023. In total, more than 1.4 million passengers travelled through these airports, the vast majority through Ljubljana Airport.
Increase in passenger and goods traffic at Ljubljana Airport
Last year, arround 1.4 million passengers travelled through Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, which was a tenth more than a year earlier. 91% of all passengers were carried by scheduled flights.
The largest passenger traffic with scheduled flights was recorded to or from Germany (16%), replacing Turkey (15%) and the United Kingdom (11%) at the top of the list. The largest increase was recorded to or from the Netherlands (by 40%) and the largest decrease to or from France (by 10%).
45% of passengers on scheduled flights travelled between Ljubljana Airport and airports within the EU, and 55% between Ljubljana Airport and airports outside the EU.
The largest passenger traffic with unscheduled flights was recorded to or from Greece (31%) and Egypt (25%). The largest increase was recorded to or from Italy (by nine times), and the largest decline to or from Malta (by 65%).
49% of passengers on unscheduled flights travelled between Ljubljana Airport and airports within the EU, and 51% between Ljubljana Airport and airports outside the EU.
In addition, in comparison with 2023, goods traffic increased by 8% to 12,388 tonnes, with only 6% of goods transported with unscheduled flights.
