Average earnings higher at the monthly and at the annual level
Compared to earnings for November, average gross earnings for December 2024 were higher in nominal terms by 11.3% and in real terms by 11.6%. Average monthly gross earnings for 2024 were also higher than earnings for the year before; they amounted to EUR 2,394.92.
At the monthly level earnings higher mainly due to higher extra payments
Average gross earnings for December 2024 amounted to EUR 2,803.97. Compared to earnings for November, they were higher in nominal terms by 11.3% and in real terms by 11.6%. Average net earnings amounted to EUR 1,825.75. Compared to earnings for November, they were higher in nominal terms by 13.3% and in real terms by 13.6%. The increase in average earnings was mainly due to higher extra payments (13th month payments and Christmas bonuses); the share of these payments in the total mass of gross earnings paid was 12.8% as regards earnings for December and 5.7% as regards earnings for November.
Compared to earnings for November, average gross earnings increased in both sectors – in the private sector by 11.9% and in the public sector by 10.1% (in the institutional sector general government they went up by 8.4%).
Average monthly earnings for 2024 also higher
Average monthly earnings for 2024 amounted to EUR 2,394.92 gross and EUR 1,526.02 net. Compared to earnings for 2023, they were higher in nominal terms (gross earnings by 6.2% and net earnings by 3.8%) as well as in real terms (gross earnings by 4.1% and net earnings by 1.8%).
Compared to earnings for 2023, average monthly gross earnings for 2024 increased in the private sector by 7.0% and in the public sector by 4.6% (in the institutional sector general government they went up by 4.0%).
Average monthly gross earnings for 2024 were higher than the national average only in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region (by 9.6%; they amounted to EUR 2,625.64) and in the statistical region Jugovzhodna Slovenija (by 0.9%). They were the lowest in the Primorsko-notranjska statistical region (EUR 2,068.62 or 13.6% less than the national average).
