Service and trade production slightly lower than in the previous month
Service and trade production went down at the monthly level, but up year-on-year. Compared to January, it decreased in all groups of service activities except real estate activities.
At the monthly level slight growth in trade, decline in services
Total production went down by 0.4% over the previous month. In trade, it increased by 0.2%, while in service activities it decreased by 1.4%.
It declined in almost all groups of service activities: the most in information and communication (by 2.3%), followed by professional, scientific and technical activities (by 2.0%), transportation and storage (by 1.8%), accommodation and food service activities (by 1.2%), and administrative and support service activities (by 0.5%). Growth was recorded only in real estate activities (by 4.7%).
Year-on-year, also up in trade and down in services
Compared to last February, total production grew by 1.3%. In trade it went up by 4.6% and in service activities down by 0.5%.
It declined in most groups of service activities. The largest decrease was recorded in accommodation and food service activities (by 3.2%), followed by administrative and support service activities (by 2.2%), information and communication (by 1.8%) and real estate activities (by 0.1%). It increased in professional, scientific and technical activities (by 2.8%) and to a lesser extent in transportation and storage (by 0.1%).
In the first two months of this year, service and trade production grew by 1.0% over the same period of the previous year. In trade, it increased by 4.4%, while in service activities it decreased by 1.0%. It went down in four out of six groups of service activities, the largest decline was observed in real estate activities (by 8.0%).
