Economic sentiment down
At the monthly as well as the annual level, the economic sentiment deteriorated.
Lower at the monthly level
The value of the sentiment indicator was −2.6 percentage points (p.p.), 0.8 p.p. lower than in March (−1.8 p.p.).
The monthly decrease was influenced by the confidence indicators in retail trade (by 1.0 p.p.) and among consumers (by 0.3 p.p.). The influence of the services and manufacturing confidence indicators was positive (by 0.5 and 0.1 p.p., respectively), while the construction confidence indicator had no influence.
Smaller deterioration also year-on-year
Compared to April of last year, the value of the sentiment indicator was lower by 0.4 p.p.
The sentiment indicator was negatively influenced by the confidence indicators among consumers (by 0.8 p.p.) and in retail trade (by 0.7 p.p.). On the other hand, it was positively influenced by the confidence indicators in manufacturing (by 0.4 p.p.), in services (also by 0.4 p.p.), and in construction (by 0.3 p.p.).
