The value of current expenditures for environmental protection the highest to date
Environmental protection investment in 2023 was 16% higher. Current expenditures for environmental protection doubled in the last decade (2013–2023), reaching EUR 1,015 million in 2023 or 22% more than in the previous year.
The majority of environmental protection funds allocated to wastewater management and waste management
Gross investment for environmental protection in 2023 amounted to EUR 474 million, which is 15.9% more than in 2022. The highest share was intended for wastewater management, namely 39.3% or EUR 187 million.
Current expenditure for environmental protection in 2023 amounted to EUR 1,015 million, which is 22.1% more than a year earlier. The highest share was intended for waste management, namely 50.9% or EUR 516.5 million.
Industry invested more in integrated technologies than in end-of-pipe technologies
In the structure of gross investment for environmental protection in industry (NACE sections of activity B, C, D), the share of investment in integrated technologies was 56.3% and that of end-of-pipe investment for environmental protection 43.7%.
Osrednjeslovenska and Savinjska the leading statistical regions
The regional structure of gross investment for environmental protection shows that the highest share of gross investment was contributed by the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region (58.5%), followed by Savinjska (10.0%) and Podravska (7.4%).
The highest share of current expenditure for environmental protection was contributed by Savinjska (29.9%), followed by Osrednjeslovenska (28.1%) and Podravska (17.2%).
