Total market production in 2024 lower than a year before
In December, production increased at the monthly level in almost all observed groups. A slight decline was recorded only in wholesale and retail trade. In 2024, wholesale and retail trade and service activities grew, while construction and industry declined.
Up at the monthly level
The total market production improved by 1.4% compared to November. It increased the most in service activities (by 3.0%) and decreased only in wholesale and retail trade (by 0.8%).
Also higher year-on-year
Compared to December 2023, the total market production went up by 0.5%. It grew the most in construction (by 2.6%) and declined only in wholesale and retail trade (by 0.4%).
Lower in comparison with 2023
In 2024, the total market production was 0.5% lower than the year before. At this level, a decline was recorded in construction and industry (by 9.0% and 1.2%, respectively), while it grew in wholesale and retail trade (by 2.3%) as well as in service activities (by 1.4%).
