Increase in external trade in goods
In November, the values of exports and imports were up at the annual level due to more trade with EU non-member countries. In the first eleven months, the value of exports was up by 11.3% and of imports by 19.4% over the same period in 2023.
Comparisons with November 2023
Exports (EUR 5.4 billion):
Compared with average monthly values of exports and imports in 2023, an increase in external trade in goods was recorded in November 2024. Exports went up by 17.9%, and imports by 19.7%.
Trade in goods with EU Member States down year-on-year
Both values of trade in goods with EU Member States went down compared to November 2023 by less than 5.0% – exports by 2.5% to EUR 2.6 billion and imports by 3.9% to EUR 2.7 billion.
External trade in the first eleven months up
Compared to the same period a year before, in the first eleven months of 2024, the value of exports grew by 11.3% and of imports by 19.4%. Imports from EU non-member countries increased the most in terms of value, namely by 43.0%.
The export-import ratio was 89.5%. Slovenia generated a deficit of EUR 6.7 billion in external trade in goods.

Exports (EUR 5.4 billion):

- The value of exports to EU Member States went down by 2.5% and to EU non-member countries up by 13.7%; without operations involving processing1, exports to this group of countries increased by 8.5% to EUR 914 million.
- Value up by 5.9%.
- The value of imports from EU Member States went down by 3.9% and from EU non-member countries up by 17.1%; without operations involving processing1, imports from the latter increased by 5.0% to EUR 793 million.
